A Wet Knot is Impossible to Untie
Jenni and Bobby's wedding day in Dripping Springs, Texas, was nothing short of total perfection. It was held on a rainy spring day which provided us with the most amazing backdrop! The natural greens of the hill country landscape paired with the bright floral colors of the bridesmaids in contrast of the bride's white gown truly made for an amazing picture. And - you know all the wive's tales about rain on your wedding day... a wet knot is, after all, impossible to untie.
When I first spoke to Jenni, I loved her sweet, bubbly personality right off the bat... but when I asked to hear her and Bobby's love story - I knew that they were a couple that I definitely wanted to work with. These two share the most genuine, sweet, real love that was just so exciting to have the chance to capture! Their love is the most fun type; out loud, upfront, and full of laughter all mixed in with a beautiful tenderness and respect for one and other.
As I think back on their wedding day, it is hard to pick out my favorite moments! There were just so many - between all of their closest friends serving in unison to make their dream wedding come true and the afterparty, it's a tough call. If I had to list three, they would go as follows:
- The Ceremony - their ceremony was chock-full of raw emotion. There were many times that the couple, along with the entire crowd of guests, would erupt into uncontrollable, choking laughter followed by moments that had everyone (including myself) teary-eyed. The ceremony was concluded with the most incredible kiss and crowd wide celebration. To top it off, in the most wonderful timing, the rain even held off until we had all receded inside and then it came down, giving us the most beautiful blue hour for portraits.
- The Mariachi Band - Jenni secretly planned Bobby's most favorite thing to get the party started... a Mariachi Band! Bobby's face was PRICELESS and you could see the joy Jenni got from pulling off such a fun surprise for her man. He truly had no idea what was coming! Everyone had the best time dancing the night away, shouting out requests, and taking down tequila shots with the band. We ended our time with the mariachi band with a dramatic last song and a hysterical cosplay-type hand-to-hand battle between Bobby and one of the groomsmen, in honor of their time together in college... we all learned that Bobby can get down and fight dirty.
- The Vibe - the overall feel for the whole day was just incredibly authentic. Jenni and Bobby's wedding was brought together by mostly friends and family. When people surround and uphold you in the way that their friends and family did, you know that you are truly loved. And that is what a wedding is about! I can't imagine a more perfect beginning to life as husband and wife.
*** HONORABLE MENTION - Trevor and The Veil. IYKYK.
Bobby and Jenni - I can't thank you enough for trusting me to be a part of your day. It was truly an hour and a privilege. Congratulations and Best Wishes, one last time!
